Stand on the stern of Balclutha, face west to feel the fresh wind blowing in from the Pacific Ocean. Located in the Fisherman's Wharf neighborhood, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park offers the sights, sounds, smells and stories of Pacific Coast maritime history.

The S.S.Jeremiah O'brien is one of two remaining fully functional Liberty Ships of the 2,710 built and launched during WWII. It has the distinction of being the last unaltered Liberty Ship and remains historically accurate. Moored at Pier 45, Fisherman's Wharf, she is a premier San Francisco attraction.

A World War II fleet submarine, Pampanito earned six battle stars for her service in the Pacific, sinking five vessels totalling 27,332 tons. Her biggest day came on September 12, 1944, when she and two other submarines surprised an 11-ship convoy and sank seven vessels. Later, Pampanito rescued 73 Allied prisoners of war who had been carried aboard the enemy transports.

The Aircraft Carrier USS HORNET Museum is a national treasure, having participated in two of the greatest events of the 20th century -- World War II and the Apollo 11 manned space mission. At Alameda Point on San Francisco Bay, the USS HORNET is a timeless memorial to those who defended our American values and to those who have pursued America's technological advancements.

Located on Mare Island, Vallejo. Visitors will be amazed as they walk the nearly 46,000 square feet of teak decks. Guests may visit the enormous engine rooms, tour her huge galley that fed 3,000 sailors a day, sit inside her sophisticated gunnery and fire control rooms and, of course, visit the huge guns that could hurl a 2,700 pound shell almost 24 miles. Everything about the battleship, with an armor belt over 16-inches thick, is enormous.

The "Floating White House" was originally commissioned the USCG Cutter Electra in 1934. In 1936 it was renamed the USS Potomac and served as Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Presidential Yacht until his death in 1945. More than a quarter of a million people have visited and sailed aboard the former President's beloved "Floating White House," the USS Potomac, since it opened to the public in the summer of 1995.
